[it's fine, Akira promised he wouldn't bring it up again, and QUITE FRANKLY. . . after that word vomit, he doesn't even want to. please don't remind him that he fucked up far more than he realized he had??? please leave it all in the past. . . please. . .]

[so when Akechi enters the kitchen, Akira doesn't even react other than to hold his hand out to take Akechi's mug]

Too late. Both servings are for me.

[j/k obviously he's gonna pour Akechi some]

[THE EMOTIONAL LABOR HELPED. . . sometimes the release is better than stewing forever!!]

That one is your fault. I'm not taking the blame for that one.

[pours coffee into Akechi's mug, sliding it across the counter to him]

Did you forget I still had the skull on me?

[YES THE RELEASE IS BETTER??? IT IS MUCH BETTER!!]

[ALSO JUST]

[HUFFS. . . slightly amused, slightly exasperated]

[and as Akechi sips at his coffee, Akira tugs the skull out of his jacket]

[and slides it across the table to him]

Take it this time, asshole.

[oh]

[my god]

[is Akechi really saying that NOW after he wasted his Tetrakarn on Akira earlier?? but Akira doesn't point that out, instead letting out a small huff as he shrugs and leans back in his seat, lifting his mug to his lips]

That's fine.

I am, after all, responsible for my own actions.

[well]

[at the sudden shift in subject matter, Akira's amused smile fades. his brow furrows, gaze flickering down to his coffee]

. . .

You know. . . Plum once told me that she and her sisters couldn't die.

Or, at the very least, they were very difficult to kill.

[thaaaaat isn't an answer]

[oh my god]

[his expression twists]

Pets.

[he repeats, a sharp note in the word, gaze narrowing as he says it]

. . . and yes, I have. I was hoping we'd find a way to retrieve them during our journey through that room, but. . .

You still have your chainsaw, right?

[this is not a non-sequitur]

[a small, aggravated sigh. looks like they're even on the "wasting useful resources" front]

I still think we should use it to sever the connection between Blue and the house, but we might also be able to use it to sever the house's hold on our souls.

I don't know how, exactly, but-- it's just a thought.
