[and in the same motion, he ducks low, pivots on his heel, and attempts to knock Akechi's balance out from under him in a sweeping kick]

He avoids the kick, jumping out of the way and taking a couple of steps back as he regains his footing, trying to stay out of Akira's reach. The gun is still in his hand, and absolutely useless for shooting, which means it's totally going to be used as a projectile here. He draws his left arm back, taking aim and—]

[Akira manages to hobble his way to the lake's edge a few seconds after Akechi, reaching out to steady himself on the detective's good shoulder once he gets there. he stares at the abyss of the lake with a dead-eyed expression]

I think this is the mansion's way of telling use we're not doing a great job of not fighting.

AT SOME POINT, THO... Despite Akechi having only one arm, which makes things even harder. They eventually get close enough to nudge their limbs over with the oars, but maybe not close enough to see how things have gone horribly wrong... Unfortunate.]

[hang on he is leaning over the side of the boat to grab the arm by the wrist and pull it out of the water. it dangles from his grasp as he holds it as far away from his body as he can, and the reason for this becomes clear soon enough]
