Room Three. They both wanted to sleep in the Infirmary, but it looked like it was going to be packed with sardines.

[ A pause. ]

Were you a sardine, Akechi-kun?

Unfortunately. [SIGHING, WEARILY...] We didn't all intend to spend the night in the room, but the doors locked before they could make up their mind.

[So! That's unfortunate.]

If there was nothing in Room Three, however, did you notice anything strange elsewhere?

After the announcement, Toi and I smelled burnt popcorn by the theater. We didn't see anything inside of the theater, but the popcorn machine is out of order.

Burnt popcorn...? That's strange. [Movie theater, are you okay??] Was there anything else you noticed?

That was it. Do you know if it's easy to burn popcorn in that machine?

I have never used it, so I can't say how easy it would be to burn something in that machine.

I guess we'll find out tomorrow. Want to check it out together? I doubt Trum- er. Toi would be up for investigating further.

I wouldn't be opposed to that. We may ask one of the sisters once we have gathered in the ballroom.

[ Giving a nod. There's a pause before he just sighs. ]

I was hoping he'd live through this.

[ Dazai is attached to a small number, and Subete was one of them. ]

[Ah... He gives him a look of sympathy.]

... My condolences, Dazai-kun. I didn't know you two were close.

[ He's not sure what to do with that look of sympathy because he doesn't usually get them.

It's also been a while since he's known loss as well. Lifting up a hand to wave it. ]

I don't know if you would call it close, but he was pretty interesting. I thought maybe he could understand.

[miscakes]

Sometimes, a single point of commonality is all we need to feel a closeness to someone.

[Either way... He sighs.]

You can count on my aid tomorrow. I will do everything I can to ascertain the truth behind Kenzaki-san's death.
